    Hi,
I find that the girl in the video is speaking spanish in a different way from the one I am learning.
For example, llamo:she pronounces as “shamo” while i pronouce like “yamo”.
Yo:”sho” for her but “yo” for my knowlegde.
Are they different language like Catalan or Spanish?
I doubt if I shouldd purchase it cos of this.

    Hola!

Actually, Bueno, entonces… teaches a wide variety of accents and dialects from different Spanish speaking countries. The big thing to remember is that the difference between one dialect and another is like the difference between American English and British English – I think most language teachers will tell you to use the system/program that works for you, and not worry about specific accents and dialects in the beginning. You’ll find it won’t matter once you master the basics.

Regardless – good luck with your Spanish!

I agree – the quiz is a great supplement to the classes – thanks!

Good review of the lesson, helps to reinforce what we learned. I took the test on my iPhone & it didn’t seem to fit the screen size correctly. Maybe that can be corrected for the next one?

Marty – thanks for the feedback, we will work on that for next time.

Am enjoying the lessons, it is a fun way to learn. Trying to do the quiz but the 3 answer option is often underneath the “submit the answer” button, so I cannot do the quiz.

In reference to one of the quiz questions for Class 2, if one’s stomach growled, could one explain it away by saying, “Estoy un hambriento hombre”, meaning “I am a hungry man”?

I heard that using “estoy” implied a temporary condition, and that “tengo” was used more idiomatically. So could this usage of “estoy” be correct if the adjective form of “hambre”, which is”hambriento”, is used, instead of the more alliterative (but grammatically incorrect) “Estoy un hombre hambre”, as an alternative to the given answer, which is “Tengo hambre”?

I have also heard that Spanish has a greater variety of ways to say the same thing than does English. Can this perhaps be one example of that richer variety of expression?

This is a question more than a comment. Should anyone already in possession of my email address (Hola, Generalissimos Linguistas!) care to further add to my growing “cada vez se conocen” . . .

have your web tech look at the page, when I tried to look at the correct answer it cut off the next question, also question 10 did not display completely, in other words all of the possible answers were not visible. I am doing this on am ipad 2

  15. idris tuna May 19, 2011 at 7:58 am #

it was really cool i think one can learn easily from this videos. but ı hope it was free:))))

  16. Zachary July 11, 2011 at 2:41 pm #

the pronunciation of the double (LL) is divided with the sh sound and jyah due to new and old time latin. people a more advanced and newly discovered program would be up to date especially that the practisioners are so young.if im wrong it still is nop difference but that it is
    recent.

Fabulous programme and I have tried many !!!

By comparison, I recently enrolled with my local University, intending to start “Intermediate Spanish” evening classes. (£100 for 8 weeks). Only to be presented with an eight week programme which consisted of 8 short (half a page each) pieces of text in English. The aim being to translate them into Spanish. The source material??? SLEEPING BEAUTY.

Needless to say I cancelled immediately as the language and vocabulary were less than useful.

Keep up the great work… You are onto a winning formula.

    To Rosemary..

I fear that you may have had a somewhat sheltered upbringing as “Feck” is NOT a misspelling of Heck, but a fairly common/ more polite way to indicate a slightly STRONGER word beginning with the same letter !!

  18. DUDE! July 16, 2011 at 5:11 pm #

Holy shit I really did learn something. yay!

  19. Faith September 10, 2011 at 1:15 am #

Very funny! Hahaha, I like this coarse.

  20. Bill September 27, 2011 at 6:18 pm #

Some of the quiz questions are testing the story content and not the language. This about learning Spanish, yes?

  21. anya September 28, 2011 at 6:49 am #

    Hola Bill!

Thanks for writing! The first quiz is much easier because it is the first class and we wanted to check that you’ve watched the lesson first. Check out the later quizzes which are much harder and solely covering the Spanish vocabulary, grammar and sentence structure taught throughout the course.

  22. SE October 6, 2011 at 10:24 am #

I really like this approach to learning a new language but I find the content a little racy. I would not want my child (10 yrs. old) to take this course with me, which was one of the points of buying it. Is it really necessary for ‘R’ rated content? Is there a ‘G’ rated version? As a parent, I can’t purchase this course in all good conscience. It’s too bad; I really like it.

  23. Raymot October 11, 2011 at 4:26 pm #

Q4. The idiom in English is “How the bloody hell should I know?”, not “How *to* bloody hell should I know?”

  24. anya October 13, 2011 at 9:48 am #

Gracias Raymot – it was a typo- now fixed :)

  25. anya October 13, 2011 at 9:51 am #

    Hola SE,

Thanks for writing! This current version is meant for adults and can only be purchased by adults because of its content. Its style is meant to be racy to keep attention and interest (think South Park) and is not designed for children. However, we are considering creating a G rated version that would appeal to everyone, so it is great to get your feedback!

    Muchas Gracias!

  26. Todd November 10, 2011 at 12:15 pm #

I agree with SE comments, except I went for it and am excited to be learning Spanish – Quiero aprendar espanol – or something like that. I think you have a great product and would consider using a G-rated version with my entire family.

  27. Enrico November 27, 2011 at 4:15 am #

I just bought it because is fun, it’s different with its approach and is …R rated
If not it would be less entertaining and appealing

Even though I am Italian and English is not my mother language, English parts are easy enough to understand (at least for me) to enjoy the course
Obviously being Italian helps, español y italiano: linguas parecidas

Pronounciation is clearly different from Spanish spoken in Spain, but once you know.. No harm

  28. Vince December 26, 2011 at 12:29 pm #

The quiz was most helpful. How to get to lesson is not obvious. If I buy all the lessons later do I get refund for those purchased already? Will I have access to all lessons to do my own practice later on?
    This could be fun.
    Vince

I love “Bueno. Entonces”! Es realmente muy bueno para los chicos como yo que no saben el espanol. (I just had to say that). Also, I hope that, just to really reinforce the lessons that you all are teaching your customers (us!), you do make sure to put up a thorough list of links (to which you could direct us via e-mail) which contain reviews/quizzes for each of the lessons of the 30-odd lesson pack. That would be much appreciated. Thanks for all of this! Hasta luego!

  30. anya January 16, 2012 at 5:56 am #
