COMBO a collaborative animation by Blu and David Ellis (2 times loop)
Ok, so there’s nothing really to help you learn Spanish on this video but we wanted to share it with you because we think it’s great!
FYI
Some words in English look very similar to their translation in Spanish (Cognates)
For example:
animated video would be video animado
animation – animacií³n
painting – pintura
art – arte (the e is pronounced)
combo – combo
combination – combinacií³n
design – diseño
graphic design – diseño grí¡fico
photography – fotografía
director – director
producer – productor
This phrase is used in a sketch about a badly translated English-Hungarian phrasebook from the British TV comedy show, Monty Python’s Flying Circus.
Here’s a video of the sketch:
My hovercraft is full of eels in Spanish would be Mi aerodeslizador estí¡ lleno de anguilas. Find more translations at the Omniglot site and read a transcription here!
The best thing about this app is that I can practice Spanish anywhere. There’s nothing like this in the market, I’ve found some translation tools but nothing with the content of Bueno, entonces. There’s a story going on between the characters so it makes you feel you are in a one to one class. I’m learning real life Spanish and not just a list of boring vocabulary words! I’m on class 15 now – and I thought everyone should know how great these classes really are. Can’t wait to see what comes next!
Being a beginner Spanish speaker living in a foreign country, this app has greatly helped me assimilate into the local culture and language. Super user friendly and fun, this app lets me study and have fun whatever my travels may take me! I highly recommend this app. Thanks BE, hope there is more to come!!
I typically do not write reviews of anything, however I feel inclined to mention that Bueno Entonces is the first language learning resource I have used that does not put me to sleep, after having tried many. I am not learning Spanish as a hobby or to go backpacking for a couple of weeks, I have to speak to it run a business, so the time I put into it must have a positive return. This method has a strong grammatical foundation with a smart and interesting way of transmitting the lessons that keeps you interested and motivates you to achieve. I hope that other academic institutions look at this app and apply this teaching style to other subjects in an effort to make academics a little less boring. Good job.

Learning Spanish has been a personal goal of mine for about 10 years. I have been trying to learn Spanish since high school. I have tried everything from Rosetta Stone to generic CD’s that I listen to in my car. By far Buenos Entonces has been the best language program that I have ever used. I have learned more in 30 lessons than I did in three years of high school Spanish. I am now in the process of watching Buenos Entonces for the second time. This time I am picking up even more words. I have alot of hispanic friends and now when they talk to each other or when they talk to their family I am starting to understand.
I especially like the story line and the interactions between Jimena and David. Its makes the experience entertaining and easy to stick with. David is hilarious and Jimena’s accent is so great to listen to. The fact that the english translation is right on the bottom allowed me to understand and learn the language. Also being able to have the lessons on my iPod was fantastic. I became addicted and I would watch the lessons while I was on my lunch break. I also took Buenos Entonces on summer vacations as they are great for waiting in the airport and passing time for the entire plane ride.
