More Music to learn Spanish!

Here’s some more music! Try to figure out the lyrics of the songs before reading the translations!!

This song is really pretty advanced but sometimes it’s good to see things way above your level just to be aware.

Tell me what will you do after you try her body
When your mischievous curiosity dies, when you memorize all her curves
and decide to come back again, I will not be here in the same place

If  she doesnt have more then two fingers, and discover that she doesn’t brush her teelh well
If she takes the few cents you have, and if later she leaves you

I know you are going to return, on that day she leaves you sad
Without a pillow to cry on, but you have decided
and you dont want to have anything to do with me, Nothing now can matter
because without you, I’m indifferent to the world

Chorus:

Si te vas, si te vas, si te marchas
Mi cielo se harí¡ gris
Si te vas, si te vas, ya no tienes
Que venir por mi
Si te vas, si te vas, y me cambias
Por esa bruja, pedazo de cuero
No vuelvas nunca mí¡s
Que no estarí© aquí

If you leave, if you leave, if you march out on me,
My sky will turn gray
If you leave, If you leave, you don’t have to come back for me.
if you leave, if you leave and exchange me
for this witch, piece of hide
Don’t come back to me anymore
I won’t be here.

New brooms always sweep well, Later you are going to see that the bristles wear out
When wrinkles cut her face, and the cellulite invade her legs.

You’ll return from your inferno, with your your tail between your legs
Imploring one more time, but by then
I will be a million nights far from this enormous city
far from you, I am indifferent to the world

Chorus

Juanes: Me Enamora

Cada blanco en mi mente
Se vuelve color con verte
Y el deseo de tenerte,
Es mí¡s fuerte, es mí¡s fuerte.

every blank in my mind
Turn to color on seeing you
And the desire to have you,
Is stronger, is stronger.

Sí³lo quiero que me lleves
De tu mano por la senda,
Y atravesar el bosque
Que divide nuestras vidas.

I only want you to take me
By the hand on the path,
And through the forest
That divides our lives
.

Hay tantas cosas
Que me gustan hoy de ti.

There are so many things
That I like about you today
.

Chorus A:
Me enamora
Que me hables con tu boca
Me enamora
Que me eleves hasta el cielo
Me enamora
Que de mi sea tu alma soñadora.

It makes me fall in love
That you speak to me with your mouth
It makes me fall in love
That you elevate me to the heavens
It makes me fall in love
That your dreamer’s soul be mine.

Chorus B:

The hope of my eyes
Without you, my life has no meaning
Without you, my life is like a whirlpool
Of ashes that go
Flying with the wind.

Yo no sí© si te merezco
Solo sí© que aún deseo
Que le des luz a mi vida
En los días venideros.

I don’t know if I deserve you
All I know is that I still wish
For you to give light to my life
In its days ahead.

Lí©eme muy bien los labios
Te lo digo bien despacio
Por el resto de mis días
Quiero ser tu compañía.

Read my lips well
I tell it to you very slowly
For the rest of my days
I want to be your company.

Hay tantas cosas
Que me gustan hoy de ti.

There are so many things
That I like about you today.

Candombe Loco by Las Pastillas del Abuelo

Alright so this one is not really a video but its such a great song:

No sí© cuantas cosas se pueden encontrar
en el ojo izquierdo de una persona, pero sí©
que en tus labios yo pude encontrar
amor sin fin, y me hizo enloquecer.

I don’t know how many things they can find
In the left of of a person, but I know
that in your lips I can find
love without end and it makes me crazy.

I don’t know how many roses they have already given you
But I still have the hope of knowing
that of all these roses they gave you
none were of paper

Y te condena mi celoso corazí³n
cuando le contí¡s tu historia,
nunca conocio la gloria
en cuestiones del amor.

And my jealous heart punishes you
when you tell them your story
never knew the glory
in questions of love

Y sí© que nunca se me va a olvidar tu voz
aunque pierda la memoria,
con acercarse a la victoria
se conforma un perdedor.

And I know that I am never going to forget your voice
although I forget the memory
with getting closer to the victory

Y te tendrí© que dejar escapar,
sí© que lo voy a lamentar,
pero te digo, amor,
hay que saber cuando parar.

And I will have to let you go,
I know I will regret it,
but let me tell you honney,
one needs to know when to stop.

No te pongas triste, corazí³n,
que el sol no va a brillar,
quedate tranquila que va a haber
tiempo para bailar.

Don’t be sad sweetheart,
the sun isn’t going to shine,
stay calm, there will be
time to dance.

I don’t know how many angels would like to help you,
but I hope that none of them will be able
to undress you, not your body but your soul,
enjoy that pleasure.

And the truth is that I don’t know what is it that I fear,
I was never a gambling guy,
I had a feeling that told me
it is time to pay.

And the worst thisg is nowadays I don’t have any money,
I don’t have a penny to give,
the tears I want to save them
for my doomsday.

siempre mi voz vas a escuchar,
y ahí te vas a decir
que hay que saber cuando parar.

And when your cigarrette burns itself nonstop
you will always listen to my voice,
and then you will decide
that you must know when to stop.

No te pongas triste, corazí³n…

Reviews of BE from iTunes

Check out some reviews from iTunes!

We have had a really great response from out current users…. here is what some of them said about us at the iTunes store:

Love this app!

by lj322

One of the best ways to learn and RETAIN spanish. I’ve spent 6 years learning Spanish and it just never sticks! The witty banter really helps me improve my listening comprehension.

I wish my high school spanish class had been this fun!

by ivegotmeow

I’m moving to buenos aires and BUENO, ENTONCES was recommended to me as a cool way to learn spanish. I really dig it so far. the concept is creative, it is fun to watch, and the content is challenging. I’m happy they don’t dumb it down for you , but I can see why some people think it’s a little fast. Truthfully, I had to watch the episode twice to feel I’d gotten everything. I love the ease of having it on my iphone and watching it at my convenience. It’s hard for me to commit to a physical class (due more to laziness than time constrictions), so it is a great alternative way to learn spanish.

Great way of learning Spanish

by Preproduction

This is absolutely one of the most fun language lessons I have ever seen. It is like a very entertaining TV show, with intelligent conversations and good acting. Complete refreshement after all those boring podcasts that we are used to.

I am looking forward to more of it! Great work:)

Very Good

by Smirkypants

I gave a generally positive review of “Bueno Entonces” in Episode 23. I purchased another couple of episodes and my impression still stands: they are surprisingly well-done, professionally polished and entertaining…. the way these little episodes are set up really give you a feel for the way Spanish is structured. Additionally, I have to add that Jimena’s voice acting is superb. Seriously, she plays the “straight-man” role really well. I’d definitely recommend that you check these out—and if you’re on your way to Argentina, they are a *must.* It’s one of the very few resources out the that gives you a feel for the way people speak in Buenos Aires.

Fun, dynamic, and effective Spanish lessons

by Caroline1

I’ve tried a whole slew of resources to maintain and improve my intermediate-level Spanish – magazines, private tutors, group classes, self-learning CDs, Spanish podcasts – but this is the first method I’ve tried that actually keeps me engaged and motivated. The characters Jimena and David are so charming, you are practically transported right to Buenos Aires with them. The visual component makes it about five times easier to learn and remember new words and grammar (versus most rich media language applications which are audio only). I’d strongly recommend this app to anyone looking to boost his/her beginning to intermediate level Spanish.

Wow, Finally!…A Fun Language App

by FIPSbk

I just started using this app, but already I’m totally loving it.

I’ve tried a variety of other language apps and podcasts and I usually get very bored, very quickly. The format here (i.e. using the backstory of someone who is *actually* trying to learn the language too) is a very cool twist. I also love all the conversational words/tips.

The symbols/color keys also rock.

So far, big thumbs up!

Bueno, entonces… is available on DVD, iPod, iPhone, iPod touch, and for Instant Download!!

Music in Spanish translated into English

Here are a few music videos with the lyrics translated into English. Looove Bacilos and Juanes! Many more to come!

Bacilos, La cara de la luna. Lyrics: Spanish & English

Who says it doesn’t hurt, the footsteps in the sand
She was taken by the sea, but the moon is still here
but this look is my punnishment.
Slowly in the morning, Shaken by the night
The voices of memory, are disguised of intuition

Chorus

Y yo sí© que tal vez
Tu nunca escuches mi cancion, yo se
Y yo sí© que tal vez
Te siga usando asi
Robí¡ndote en mi inspiracií³n

And I know, that maybe
you never listen to my song, I know
And I kow that maybe
I’ll keep using you like this,
robbing you in my inspiracion

Mientras siga escuchando tu voz

Meanwhile, I keep seeing your face in the face of the moon
Meanwhile, I keep hearing your voice
between the waves, between the foam
Meanwhile, I have to change the radio station because every song speaks to me of you
of you
of you
speaks to me of you

Life escapes me
behind a promise without completion
from where inspiration is born, from where another song is born
And I don’t know well who is hiding
I dont yet know what is hiding

Chorus (2x)

Yo seguirí© buscando, yo seguirí© escapando
Tal vez de ti, tal vez de mi
Yo seguirí© buscí¡ndole una explicacií³n
A esta cancií³n
Tambií©n

I’ll continue looking, I’ll continue escaping
Maybe from you, Maybe from me
I’ll keep looking for an explanation
to this song
also

Chorus (2x)

Juanes, Gotas de Agua Dulce. Lyrics: Spanish & English

A long time ago I didn’t fall for some beautiful eyes
Common eyes with a healthy shine
It was the last thing in my plans
Although I admit to you that sometimes I dreamt
of the beauty of your look.

I want to carry, the rhythm of your heart
to dance, betweent the two of us, this song
The truth, I’m falling in love again
The truth, I want you to know….

(X2)

What I feel for you, is love
desire that nourishes my heart
Drugs that make me immune to pain
drops of sweet water, rays of sun

Carry me, precisely, by the shape of your shadow
I know that you turn on the light and you enter my life
Like white doves, when the plaza is taken
With an immortal flight

Chistes (jokes)

Ok, so these might be a bit cheezy but totally fun to read, and a great way to practice. Spanish is blue, English purple. Please note, if the English sounds a little funny, it is because for the most part these were translated literally so you get an idea for the meaning of each word.

“Doctor, me siento mal todo me da vueltas, ademí¡s me arde el corazí³n.”
- Mire Sra., en primer lugar no soy doctor, soy cantinero, Usted no estí¡ enferma estí¡ borracha y en tercer lugar no le arde el corazí³n, tiene una teta en el cenicero.

“Doctor, I feel sick.  Everything is spinning and moreover, my heart burns.”
- Look Miss, in the first place, I am not a doctor, I’m a bartender. You’re not sick, you are drunk, and in the third place, your heart does not burn, you have a breast in the ashtray.

A business man, on a business trip to Paris receives a letter from his girlfriend in Chile. The Letter said the following:

Querido Alejandro:

Dear Alejandro:
I can not continue our relationship. The distance that separates us is too large. I have to admit that I have been unfaithful 10 times since you left and I believe that neither you or I deserve this. I am sorry. Pleas return the picture that I sent you.
With Love,
Maria

The Man, very hurt, asked all of his friends from work to give him pictures of their girlfriends, sisters, friends, aunts, cousins…etc. Together with the picture of Maria, he included all of the pictures that he collected from his friends. There were 57 in total, and and a note that said:

María, perdí³name, pero no puedo recordar quien eres.
Por favor, busca tu foto en el paquete y devuelveme el resto.

Maria, please forgive me but I can’t remember who you are. Please search through the packet for your picture and send the rest back.

A woman walks into a bar, completely naked
she takes a seat and she calls the waiter to ask him to bring a cup of wine
The waiter stays staring for a while, the girl stares back and says;
“Have you never seen a naked girl?”
The waiter responds:
“yes, but I’m just waiting to see where you are going to take your money from.”

Review: Bueno, entonces… Learn Spanish

I stumbled across B.E. about a month and a half ago, I watched one episode and was hooked…David is an absolute riot…Jimena is a doll…and together, they are the perfect teacher/student combo…my husband gets annoyed bc I will not put my phone away…

Because you are hearing conversations and not sitting in front of the computer or with your nose in a book, each time you listen to an episode you learn both vocab and grammar without even knowing it.s-decler-and-hook21

Yes, it is fast paced but if you are truly dedicated to learning the beautiful language that is Spanish, and you want to do it quickly, it doesn’t matter….I listened to each lesson twice before moving on to the next…I had to make myself do this because not only are you learning Spanish quickly but at the same time you are dying to know what is going to happen btw David and Jimena…

B.E. is a new and engaging, revolutionary and hilarious approach to learning Spanish that I believe (and hope) will end up making history!
